-Isaiah40:31

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”
-Proverbs22:6

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
-Philippians 4:13

We are dedicated to maintaining the highest level of scholastic standards. We are fully committed to providing an enriched academic environment, which will encourage every student to strive to attain excellence.

Children reach their highest potential if they have a healthy appreciation of self-worth. We deem it to be imperative that our curriculum incorporates a program, which emphasizes Christian values and academic excellence.

History

Contrary to its name, the enactment of the federal No Child Left Behind Act,(2001), did leave many children behind in our public schools. With the enactment of the federal No Child Left Behind Act, unfortunately, contrary to its name, many children were being left behind in our public schools. Inasmuch, education had become more of a business in its operations at the expense of our children, leaving many with no place to turn. While others believed the solution to the educational issue was to retain children in the third grade who could not pass a standardized test.

In contrast, building a strong foundation emphasizing the fundamentals, grounded in Christian principles and practices, will make a difference. As a result, Dr. Victor T. Curry and the New Birth Baptist Church Cathedral of Faith International family took action. They decided the time was ripe to serve the children of the community. On August 16, 2004, history was made when the doors opened to Dr. John A. McKinney Christian Academy located on the premises of the church.
